Russian air defenses shoot down five Ukrainian drones

WORLD, June 22 (YPA) – The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that its air defenses shot down five Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.

“Air defense systems destroyed two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the territory of the Bryansk region, two UAVs over the territory of the Smolensk region and one UAV over the Sea of ​​Azov,” the ministry said.

On Thursday, Russian forces destroyed 120 boats and  UAVs launched by Kiev forces towards Crimea and western Russian regions.

Ukrainian forces continue to target border areas in southwest Russia with drones and missiles almost daily.

Meanwhile,  President Vladimir Putin emphasized the necessity of expanding the Russian military operation in Ukraine and pushing Ukrainian forces away from Russian territory, due to the range of missiles they are using in attempts to strike Russia.
