Palestinian football president denied entry into Australia

WORLD, June 12 (YPA) – Australian authorities have denied entry to the Palestine Football Association’s (PFA) president Jibril Rajoub ahead of the Palestinian team’s World Cup qualifier against Perth’s Socceroos on Tuesday due to due to Israeli pressure .

He explained, in a press conference held today in Ramallah, that the Australian authorities claimed that the reason was that he was a former prisoner and a member of a “terrorist organization.”

He continued: “But the truth is that my entry was prevented due to Israeli pressure, as I have previously entered Australia twice.”

The Australian government prevented Rajoub from entering the country last Sunday.

The visa request for Rajoub came after his intention to accompany the Palestinian team heading to FIFA matches in Australia, following the delay that preceded the ban on his entry.

FIFA issued an official statement earlier, saying: “The responsibility of granting entry to the country lies with the concerned national authorities. FIFA supports the entry and exit of all members of all delegations for all international matches.”

Earlier, the Zionist entity’s Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz threatened Rajoub with imprisonment due to his anti-Israel efforts in FIFA.
