UKMTO: Fire extinguished on ship after it was bombed off

LONDON, June 09 (YPA) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on Sunday that a fire that broke out on a commercial ship after it was attacked off the Yemeni coast in the Gulf of Aden had been extinguished.

The UKMTO stated on its website, “The captain reported that the ship was hit by an unknown missile, and there was a fire in the docking station, and it was reported that it was extinguished.”

It has been reported that all crew members are safe, and the ship is now heading to its next stop, the UKMTO added.

The attack comes two days after the Yemeni forces announced that they had targeted two ships in the Red Sea (Elbella) and (Ol Genoa) with missiles and drones, against the background of “violating the decision to ban entry to ports in the occupied Palestinian territories.”
