UN adds “Israel” on blacklist

WORLD, June 08 (YPA) – The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, has informed the so-called “Defense Attaché” of Israel in the United States, Heidi Silberman, that he has decided to include Israel in the black list of countries and organizations that harm children in conflict zones

According to a report published by the Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” on Friday, “all of Israel’s efforts to persuade Guterres to avoid this step have failed, and Israel will appear on the blacklist that will be published next week in a report to be distributed to members of the Security Council, to be discussed on June 26.”

A report from Channel 13, confirmed last night that the UN Secretary-General made the decision despite Israeli efforts to convince him to reverse it.

Last month, “Yedioth Ahronoth” and its website “Ynet” revealed that there was real fear in Israel about this move, following numerous statements made by Guterres against Israel.

The newspaper confirmed that “various sources familiar with the matter say that the current Secretary-General hates Israel and can no longer be influenced.

“Israel” has expressed concern that this step could lead to an arms embargo being imposed against it.
