STC threatens pro-coalition government with massive uprising

ADEN, June 06 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Thursday threatened the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition with a massive uprising against the economic collapse and the continuing dire situation in the city of Aden and the rest of the southern and eastern provinces of Yemen.

The Secretary-General of the STC Presidency, Fadl Al-Jaadi, said in a post on the “X” platform that “whoever thinks that people will get used to the miserable situation and lack of services is delusional.”

Al-Jaadi stressed that people’s patience may run out the moment they find the government’s continued impotence and its failure to take any measures that would change the situation for the better.

He demanded the dissolution of the so-called “House of Representatives and the Shura Council” loyal to the coalition, emphasizing that this would provide the treasury of the Bank of Aden with billions that go to monthly salaries and incentives for members whose terms expired years ago.

Al-Jaadi noted the possibility of using this money to provide services, pay people’s salaries, and purchase electricity fuel.
