UN experts call on countries around world to recognize Palestine

WASHINGTON, June 03 (YPA) –  A group of United Nations experts on Monday called on the rest of the world’s countries to recognize the State of Palestine.

The UN experts said, in a statement, “This recognition is an important recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people, their struggle, and their suffering for the sake of freedom and independence.”

They stressed that Palestine must be able to enjoy the right to full self-determination, including “the ability to exist, determine its destiny, and develop freely as a people enjoying safety and security.”

The statement stressed that “recognition of the State of Palestine is a precondition for permanent peace in Palestine and the entire Middle East.”
