Local currency continues to collapse in Aden portending imminent economic disaster

SANAA, May 30 (YPA) – Foreign exchange rates rose again against the Yemeni riyal on Thursday in banks in the city of Aden and the southern and eastern Yemeni provinces, portending an imminent economic disaster.

Banking sources revealed that the exchange rate of the US dollar in the banks of the city of Aden and the southern and eastern Yemeni province hit 1,761 riyals, while the Saudi riyal exceeded the barrier of 463 riyals.

Meanwhile, the exchange rates and foreign currency trading in Sanaa and the provinces under the control of the Supreme Political Council remained stable and were not affected by any developments, as the price of the dollar is stable at 530 riyals and the Saudi riyal at 139.70 riyals.
