WORLD, May 24 (YPA) -The Danish state broadcaster said Thursday that parliament will vote next Tuesday on a resolution calling for recognition of a Palestinian state.
This comes the day after Norway, Ireland, and Spain announced their decision to recognize Palestine as a state, which will enter into force on May 28, coinciding with the date of the Danish vote.
According to the radio, the foreign affairs spokesman for the opposition “Red-Green Alliance”, Trin Berto Mach, said: “The government parties will have the opportunity to vote in favor of this (recognition of the State of Palestine) next week.”
Mach urged “the government to change its position and follow in the footsteps of Norway and other European countries.”
The resolution proposal was submitted by the Red-Green Alliance, the Social Liberals, the Alternative Party, and the Socialist People’s Party.
