Three officials assassinated in Shabwa

SHABWA, May 20 (YPA) – A senior official of the local authority of Shabwa province escaped on Sunday an assassination attempt, which led to killing three and wounding two others.

According to local sources, secretary-General of the Local Council in Shabwa province , Abdo Rabbuh Hashla, survived after being targeted in an armed ambush in Ayn district.

The ambush resulted in the killing of his son Tawfiq, his nephew, and another companion, while two bodyguards were injured.

The sources added that the assassination attempt was the result of tribal revenge.

The coalition-controlled areas of southern and eastern Yemen are witnessing the process of inciting tribal vendettas, in light of the conflict erupting between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, according to observers.
