Aden governor calls protesters to stand united to expel coalition

SANAA, May 13 (YPA) – Sanaa-based Aden governor, Tariq Salam, called on protesters in Aden city, south of Yemen, to seize the historic opportunity to end their suffering by expelling the coalition and its tools.

He said in a post on X that the city people are suffering from woes and false promises as the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council group and the coalition affiliated Aden government have continued to seize revenues away from the interest of the citizens.

Salam affirmed that the coalition’s authorities withdrew 994 million Yemeni riyals on May 1 to 7, 2024, without any disbursement, calling on the people of Aden to put an end to their suffering being repeated every year in search of electricity and controlling prices.

He pointed out that dozens of citizens suffered from fainting and suffocation as a result of the power outage and high temperatures, which is leading people to tending to sleep in the streets and roads.
