Protest rally cuts off important bridge in Aden

ADEN, May 07 (YPA) – A large demonstration was launched on Tuesday from the city of Bir Ahmed in Aden, reaching the bridge line, which led to its closure to vehicular traffic, in order to demand the release of Sheikh Mahdi Al-Aqrabi, the sheikh of Bir Ahmed and its environs, from the prison of the Criminal Investigation Department in the Khur Maksar district.

The demonstrators from the area considered the arrest process illegal, and came against the backdrop of a previous malicious case that had been pending since 2014 and was raised and reopened recently.

The demonstrators demanded the necessity of lifting the injustice practiced against Sheikh Mahdi Al-Aqrabi and implementing the desired justice by releasing the detained sheikh as soon as possible.
