Netanyahu orders to shut down Al Jazeera office

AL QUDS, May 05 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that his government unanimously had decided to close the offices of the Al Jazeera, accusing the Qatari channel of incitement.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted Netanyahu’s office as saying that the decision to close the channel in “Israel” was passed unanimously in the Council of Ministers.

While Israeli media outlets said that the ministers of the official camp did not participate in the voting session on the decision.

The channel’s broadcast facilities will be confiscated, under the decision, and the press credentials of all its correspondents in Israel will be revoked.

In this context, Minister of Communications of Israel Shlomo Karhisaid, “The orders took effect immediately.” It has been a long time and we have faced many unnecessary legal pitfalls until we can finally stop the tainted machine of incitement that harms the security of the state.”

There are 70 employees working in Al Jazeera’s offices in “Israel”, according to the Ynet website, which indicated that Karhisaid intends to request to prevent the channel from broadcasting in the West Bank as well.
