WORLD, May 04 (YPA)- US universities have started to comply with some demands of pro-Palestinian student protesters after several days of sit-ins, according to CNN.
CNN reported that the University of California, Riverside, reached an agreement with the protesters to end their sit-in on Saturday evening.
The agreement includes a commitment from the university administration to transparency and disclosure of investments and academic cooperation programs with external parties.
Meanwhile, NBC reported that the University of Vermont canceled a speech by US Ambassador to the United Nations Thomas Greenfield in response to the demands of protesting students.
Student activism continues in US universities, despite several sit-ins being dispersed at universities in New York and California. Sit-ins continue at several universities in protest against the war on Gaza.
At least 30 American universities have witnessed pro-Palestinian protests, as Fox News reporting that the total number of detainees in the past two weeks is approaching 2,000.
