WORLD, May 01 (YPA) – Colombian President Gustavo Petro said Wednesday his country will sever diplomatic ties with “Israel”, due to its war against Gaza Strip.
“Tomorrow (Thursday) diplomatic relations with the state of Israel will be severed… for having a genocidal president,” Petro, a harsh critic of the war against the Gaza Strip, told a May Day rally in Bogota, referring to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He continued, saying, “Countries cannot stand idly by in the face of events in Gaza. If Palestine dies, humanity dies, and we will not let it die.”
President Gustavo Petro had threatened on March 24th to cut ties if “Israel” continued its “genocidal war” against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
He called on the international community to boycott “Israel” because of its crimes.
Colombian President is considered one of the staunchest critics of “Israel’s” crimes against Palestinians, along with other countries such as Bolivia, Venezuela, and South Africa.
