ADEN, April 30 (YPA) – A heated conflict broke out between a number of the coalition-affiliated leaders, forcing Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak to inform Saudi Arabia and threaten to submit his resignation.
Media sources loyal to the coalition confirmed bin Mubarak submitted a complaint to the Saudi Ambassador, Mohammed Al Jaber, in which he reviewed a number of interventions by the head of the Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council,” Rashad Al-Alimi, demanding an end to these actions in his powers in the government.
The sources indicated that Bin Mubarak informed the Saudi ambassador that if Al-Alimi’s interventions continued, he would be forced to resign.
Bin Mubarak accused Al-Alimi of interfering in his tasks, taking over the powers and decisions he issued regarding investigation committees into numerous violations in the ministries.
The sources explained that Al-Alimi was opposed to appoint Bin Mubarak as prime minister, describing him as a “dangerous opportunist.”
They indicated that Bin Mubarak asked the Saudi ambassador, Mohammed Al Jaber, to intervene to limit the interference of Al-Alimi, who seeks to obstruct and thwart his duties.
The sources explained that Al-Alimi accused also Bin Mubarak of implementing agendas for the benefit of his deputy, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, the head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), and receiving orders directly contributing to the overthrow of all officials loyal to Al-Alimi.
