Kenya’s military chief killed along with nine others in helicopter crash

WORLD, April 19 (YPA) – Kenya’s military chief has died in a helicopter crash in the country’s northwest, President William Ruto said on Friday.

General Francis Ogolla and nine other people were killed in the crash at 2:20 pm (11:20 GMT) on Thursday in Elgeyo Marakwet County, about 400km (250 miles) northwest of the capital, Nairobi.

“A helicopter belonging to the Kenyan Defense Forces crashed and caught fire in the Elgeyo Marakwet region in the west of the country,” the Kenyan newspaper “The Standard” reported earlier in the day.
