Kuwait’s Prime Minister appointed by Amiri decree
KUWAIT, April 15 (YPA) – The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, issued on Monday an Amiri decree appointing Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister and assigning him to nominate members of the new cabinet.
This appointment came after the caretaker Prime Minister Sheikh Muhammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah apologized for forming the next government, days after he submitted the resignation of his government to the Amir of the country on April 6, following the announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections that the country witnessed on April 4.
On January 4, Sheikh Meshaal issued an Amiri order appointing Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as Prime Minister and assigning him to nominate members of the new cabinet.
On January 24, the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Sabah, also issued an Amiri order appointing Sheikh Muhammad Sabah Al-Salem, Prime Minister, as Deputy Emir, throughout the period of Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s absence from the country.
As for Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, he was born on September 5, 1952. He is the fifth son of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the eldest son of the tenth ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
