Five militia memebers of STC killed in Al-Qaeda attack in Abyan

ABYAN, April 01 (YPA) – At least five militia members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions were killed and three injured in an armed ambush in the province of Abyan, southern Yemen, well-informed sources reported on Sunday.

According to Informed sources, gunmen believed to be affiliated with Al-Qaeda ambushed a military vehicle belonging to the “Security Belt” factions on Saturday, in Mudiyah district, resulting in the death of five militia members and the injury of three others.

This comes after a series of operations carried out by Al-Qaeda elements against the Emirati factions, which escalated following the widening of differences with the Saudi factions in Hadramout.
