GAZA, March 25 (YPA) – The UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca P. Albanese, accused on Monday the Israeli occupation of committing genocide in Gaza Strip.
“There are logical reasons to say that the Israeli occupation committed several acts of genocide in Gaza,” she said in a report that will be submitted on Tuesday to the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Albanese affirmed in her report that the overwhelming nature and scale of the Israeli attack on Gaza and the devastating living conditions has revealed a deliberate intent to physically destroy the Palestinians as a group.
She pointed out that Tel Aviv is carrying out an “ethnic cleansing” process in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Albanese re-published a post made by the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, on the “X” platform, saying, “the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against children within 5 months took place in an area the size of the American city of Philadelphia.”
She reported that the number of children killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023 is greater than the number of children killed in the world’s wars over the past 4 years.
The Gaza-based Ministry of Health said that the total number of the Palestinian martyred since October 7 has reached 32,333, including 70% children, in addition to more than 74,000 others have been wounded.
