WORLD, March 25 (YPA) – The United Nations Security Council is set to vote today on a drafted resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The resolution, prepared by several non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, will be voted on this evening.
Last Friday, Russia and China used their veto on a US-drafted resolution in the UN Security Council regarding Gaza, which did not include any direct call for a ceasefire, but rather indicated its support for the ongoing international efforts to secure a ceasefire.
Since the start of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza last October 7th, Washington has used its veto power against three draft resolutions, two of which called for an immediate ceasefire.
