UNRWA spokesman warns of spreading diseases in Gaza
GAZA, March 14 (YPA) – UNRWA spokesman Kazem Abu Khalaf said in press statements that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is tragic and is getting worse day by day, referring to fears of the spread of deaths due to shelling and hunger.
“The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is tragic and is getting worse day by day, and we are also afraid that deaths will spread widely not only because of the shelling, but also because of hunger”, Kazem Abu Khalaf said.
“There is a noticeable spread of diseases, some of which were not common before, such as hepatitis, while schools and all medical centers except hospitals and sanitation are completely destroyed”, he stressed.
“27 people have died of hunger and malnutrition, including 25 children, and 12 of the 36 hospitals are partially functioning”, he added.
