UNRWA: Over 300 thousand Palestinian students in our schools in Gaza are deprived of education

GAZA, Feb. 21 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) confirmed on Wednesday that more than 300 thousand Palestinian students in the agency’s schools in the Gaza Strip are deprived of education, due to the continuous Zionist aggression since the seventh of last October.

“More than 300 thousand girls and boys in the agency’s schools have their education suddenly stopped, they are facing a terrible war, and schools in northern Gaza have been severely damaged or completely destroyed, and have become in ruins due to the brutal war”, the Palestinian News Agency WAFA quoted the agency’s Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini as saying.

On Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Education announced that 5,213 students were martyred and 8,691 were injured in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression, while 351 schools, including 65 affiliated to UNRWA, were bombed and vandalized, which led to the destruction of 40 of them completely and severely damaged 111 schools, which caused the denial of 620 thousand students in the Strip to attend their schools, most of them suffer from psychological trauma and face difficult health and humanitarian conditions.
