SHABWA, Jan. 24 (YPA) – Armed clashes broke out on Tuesday among UAE-funded factions in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, leaving a number wounded.
Local sources said that confrontations took place between members of the “Shabwa Defense” factions and gunmen loyal to the leader of the Southern Movement, Aseel Rashid, at the Al-Houta Junction in the city of Azzan.
The sources explained that the clashes between the members occurred after graduation from a training course, without revealing a reason.
This comes as an extension of the security chaos that Shabwa districts are witnessing as a result of the recruitment of factions from Dhalea and Lahj, including members of Al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
