GAZA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – About 570,000 people in Gaza are facing catastrophic hunger because of the Israeli aggression on the Strip.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said in its post on X website on Tuesday.
The UNRWA added that violent fighting, denial of access, restrictions, and communications blackouts are hampering the agency’s work and its ability to provide aid safely and efficiently, calling for a significant increase in humanitarian access.
It has continued to distribute flour in the southern provinces of the Gaza Strip, reaching more than 320,000 families so far.
Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that the Israeli occupation prevented 3 out of 4 humanitarian missions from reaching the northern Strip.
He said that only 7 out of 29 missions scheduled to deliver food, medicine, water and other basic supplies succeeded in reaching the northern Gaza Valley.

Intense fighting, access denials & restrictions + communications blackouts are hampering @UNRWA's ability to safely & effectively deliver aid.
As risk of famine grows, @UN calls for a critical increase in humanitarian access. https://t.co/fhlAGyJ8BQ
