PRCS: 5 killed and over 20 injured in Israeli strike at refugee camp in Gaza Strip

GAZA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – At least five people were killed and over 20 were injured by the Israeli occupation shelling of the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said on its X page.

“PRCS ‘s medical post in Jabalia dealt with five martyrs and 21 injuries due to the Israeli occupation’s shelling east of Jabalia,” the PRCS said.

Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) declared that Israel prevented 3 out of 4 humanitarian missions from reaching northern Gaza.

OCHA pointed out that Israel prevented an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza in the first two weeks of 2024, despite the urgent need for it in the region. It confirmed that only 7 out of 29 planned missions to deliver food, medicine, water, and other essential supplies managed to reach northern Gaza.

On the other hand, the Coordination Office of the Israeli government in the Palestinian territories, affiliated with the Israeli Ministry of Defense, announced that around 10,000 aid trucks had entered the Gaza Strip since October 2023.
