TEHRAN, Jan. 20 (YPA) – Iran’s senior commanders were killed on Saturday in Israeli air strikes on the Mezzeh neighborhood, in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that Haj Sadiq, an intelligence commander in Syria of the Quds Force of IRGC, and his deputy, Haj Muharram, were killed in the Zionist attack which hit a residential building in Mezzeh.
A security source in a pro-Syrian regional coalition said, in statements to Reuters, that four members of the IRGC, including a senior official in its information unit, were killed in an Israeli air strike on Damascus on Saturday.
The source indicated that the multi-storey building, which was used by Iranian advisors supporting the Syrian government, was completely destroyed.
In addition, the Iranian-based Al-Alam TV reported that two senior Iranian military advisors were killed in the Israeli raid.
It added that Youssef Omid Zadeh, known as Hajj Sadiq, was killed along with his deputy, Hajj Muharram,” in the Israeli strike on the Mezzeh neighborhood, in Damascus.
