Hamas delegation holds political consultations in Moscow

WORLD, Jan. 19 (YPA) – A Hamas delegation led by the head of the Movement’s International Relations Office, Musa Abu Marzouk, met on Friday afternoon with the Russian President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, at the headquarters of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.

The Hamas delegation included member of Hamas political bureau in Gaza, Dr. Bassem Naim, and the Movement’s representative to Moscow.

The delegation of Hamas Movement’s leadership held political consultations with the Russian Foreign Ministry to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza in order to put an end to the Israeli bloody aggression against the Palestinian people, and to clarify the Movement’s position and policies on the file of captives held by the resistance in Gaza.

The Hamas delegation pointed out that Israeli heinous crimes committed against the Palestinian people and peoples of the region, constitute a serious threat to international peace and security.

The delegation stressed the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and return, and their right to resistance against the Israeli occupation by all available means.

For his part, Bogdanov confirmed his country’s supportive position of the rights of the Palestinian people and asserted that his country has been exerting efforts along with the concerned parties to reach a ceasefire.

The delegation welcomed these diplomatic efforts, and praised the official and popular Russian humanitarian and relief aid presented to the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip.
