Haniyeh: We hope that America will learn lessons from its support for Zionist entity

DOHA, Jan. 06 (YPA) – The head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, on Friday called on US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to focus, during his upcoming visit to the region, on ending the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Haniyeh said, in a video speech, according to the Palestinian Information Center: “We hope that Blinken will focus his visit to the region on ending the aggression by ending the occupation of all Palestinian land.”

He added: “We hope that Blinken has learned lessons from the past three months and realized the mistakes that Washington made by blindly supporting the occupation and believing its lies, which caused unprecedented massacres and war crimes against our people in Gaza.”

Haniyeh expressed his hope that the officials in the Arab and Islamic countries who will meet Blinken “will confirm to the American administration that the future and stability of our region is closely linked to the Palestinian issue and that this issue cannot be bypassed.”

He also stressed that “the blood that was shed in thousands of massacres and this terrible destruction cannot achieve security or stability as long as our people do not obtain their freedom and their independent, fully sovereign state with Al-Quds as its capital.”

Blinken arrived this evening, Friday, in Istanbul, his first stop on a tour in the region centered on the war in Gaza. In addition to Turkey and Greece, Blinken will visit Jordan, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, as well as the occupied Palestinian territories and the West Bank, as part of his fourth tour in the region since the beginning of the Zionist aggression on Gaza.
