TAIZ, Jan. 03 (YPA) – Gunmen set fire on Wednesday to the house of former Taiz governorate deputy, Mohammed Mansour al-Shawafi, a member of the general people’s Congress party.
Media sources in Taiz confirmed that the fire consumed everything that remained in the house, which is under the control of Islah leader Abdul Jalil Saeed and his children, and leader Abdul Hafiz al-Faqih, head of the Taiz Islah group since 2014, and they are responsible for burning it to cover up the theft that the house was subjected to at their hands.
According to the media, the house is located in al-Manakh neighborhood of Taiz and was stormed in 2014 by Islah gunmen and turned it into the headquarters of the Islah party after looting all its contents.
According to preliminary information, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, but many rooms, furniture and personal belongings inside the house were damaged.
