Northern Israeli settlements closed for fear of ‘possible war’ with Hezbollah

WORLD, Dec. 25 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation authorities decided on Monday to close a large group of northern settlements from 06:00 a.m. until further notice, fearing a “possible war” with the Lebanese Hezbollah.

A spokesman for the Kiryat Shmona Municipality said that in light of the assessment of the situation, it was decided to close a large group of northern settlements bordering Lebanon to the entry of settlers until further notice.

The Regional Council of the Upper Galilee Settlements, which is four kilometers from the border with Lebanon, announced that from 6:00 a.m. roads in the area would be closed. These measures come out of fear of attacks by Lebanese Hezbollah.

Naim Qassem, deputy secretary-general of Lebanese Hezbollah, warned that the party will respond if the Israeli enemy decides to escalate its aggression against southern Lebanon.
