SANAA, Dec. 22 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology on Friday expected cold to relatively cold weather in several governorates, with active to strong winds on the coasts over the next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin, the center said that the weather would be cold in the governorates of Dhamar, -Bayda, Amran, Sanaa, Saada, Dhalea and Ibb, and cold to relatively cold in the heights of the governorates of Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout plateau, Jawf, Marib, Hajjah, Mahwit, and Raymah.
Active to strong winds ranging in speed between 20-30 knots will blow around the Socotra archipelago, the western coast, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, the center explained.
The center called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients, and workers during the night and early morning hours, to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from cold weather.
It urged farmers to take precautions against cold weather to protect their crops.
The center also warned seagoers and fishermen in the Socotra Archipelago, the south of the western coast, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab of the turbulent sea and high waves.
