Exchange of prisoners to conduct on principle of all for all: Al-Nakhalah

GAZA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziad al-Nakhalah, confirmed on Wednesday that the exchange of prisoners with the Israeli occupation will only take place through the principle of all for all.

Al-Nakhalah affirmed in a statement that the prisoners file will be within a political process agreed upon by the Palestinian people, represented with their political forces, headed by the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas.

“Going to Egypt comes with a clear vision, which is to stop the aggression, withdraw the Israeli occupation from Gaza, and rebuild Gaza,” Al-Nakhalah stressed.

In this context, the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to hold talks with Egyptian officials, in a step to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to exchange prisoners with the Israeli occupation.

A few days ago, the Hamas movement reiterated its position not to open any negotiations to exchange prisoners unless the aggression on the Gaza Strip stops.

In turn, Zionist media outlets reported that Tel Aviv informed Qatar of its readiness to conclude one- week truce in the Gaza Strip, based on a willingness to release Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of about 40 Israeli prisoners.
