Third scientific conference for arts, humanities starts in Sanaa

SANAA, Dec.18 (YPA) – The Third Scientific Conference of Arts and Humanities on “The Arabic Language: Its Status and Role in Development” began on Monday in the capital, Sanaa, coinciding with World Arabic Language Day, December 18th.

The conference, which is organized over two days by Al-Andalus University of Science and Technology with the participation of 67 male and female researchers from various local, Arab, and international universities, aims to shed light on the importance and status of the Arabic language, its role in education and sustainable development, and in promoting culture and communication between peoples.

At the opening of the conference, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the caretaker government, Hussein Hazib, emphasized the significance of holding a scientific conference on the Arabic language, which God honored with the revelation of the Holy Quran and became the language of Paradise.

Hazib stressed the need to focus on the Arabic language in graduates’ documents and within postgraduate programs, noting the significance of celebrating Arabic Language Day on a broad level due to its historical importance and its connection to cultural and faith identity.
