LONDON, Dec. 14 (YPA) – Google employees protested against its involvement in providing technology support to the Israeli occupation during a protest in London on Wednesday, paying tribute to their Palestinian colleague, Mai Obaid, who was killed by an Israeli air strike in Gaza.
Mai, a graduate of a Gaza-funded Google programming training camp and part of Google’s startup accelerator program, was killed with her family on October 31, according to a report published by the Middle East Eye website.
Google employees organized the protest in conjunction with the “No Technology to Apartheid” campaign outside the company’s offices near King’s Cross station, following similar protests that took place in the cities of Seattle and New York in the United States.
