SHABWA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia pushed on Wednesday new reinforcements from its “Shield of Homeland” factions towards Shabwa province, informed sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources said that armored vehicles and military pick-up vehicles from shield of homeland factions came out of Aden and arrived at Maodiya district in Abyan governorate, and are on their way to Shabwa province in eastern Yemen.
Saudi Arabia is seeking through new military reinforcements to restore its influence in the oil province, by seeking to limit the control of factions affiliated with the UAE, the sources added.
The sources pointed out that this is the first time that Riyadh has sent homeland shield forces to Shabwa.
Last Monday, Riyadh took control of Thamoud camp in Hadramout desert.
On the other hand, observers considered that Riyadh is seeking to strengthen its military presence in the eastern regions of Yemen at the expense of factions affiliated with Islah party and factions affiliated with the UAE.
