UAE-backed factions impose armed siege on Sira court in Aden

ADEN, Dec. 11 (YPA) – Pro-UAE factions on Saturday blocked main streets and imposed an armed cordon with various types of light and medium weapons on the Sira court building in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition.

According to the sources, the UAE-backed factions refused to try the leader of the “Security Belt” Alaa Al-Mashriqi, the only accused of assassinating recruit Amir Mihdhar Al-Kaldi in the city of Aden last August, demanding his release by force of arms from the court.

Armed elements on several Emirati military vehicles blocked the main road leading to the Sira area and prevented traffic there, in addition to the gathering of armed elements in front of the court gate with various types of weapons, including “RBG” shells.

The armed elements gathered since early morning, in conjunction with the holding of the Sira Court the first session of the trial of Al-Mashriqi after pressures, sit-ins, and solidarity of the Adani street with the family of the victim, to be postponed due to armed manifestations in the area.

This sparked ridicule and resentment at the same time by residents and activists on social media, who demanded Aidarous al-Zubaidi, the head of Southern Transitional Council (STC)  to secure the court before his demands to secure Israeli ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
