SANAA, Dec. 09 (YPA) – A Marine earthquake struck the Arabian Sea on Saturday with a magnitude of 6.2 Richter off the coast of the Sur region in the Sultanate of Oman.
Observers in the follow-up and monitoring of earthquakes confirmed that the global monitoring centers have removed the earthquake that occurred today from the monitoring list for the second time after the earthquake that occurred at dawn on Friday with a magnitude of 6.6 Richter and a shallow depth in the Arabian Sea.
They pointed out that the area will witness Marine tremors due to the transmission of seismic energy around the seismic faults associated with the area.
They also stressed that the seismic situation is turbulent and dangerous in the region, expecting the occurring of strong earthquakes due to active faults over the past days.
