SANAA, Dec. 06 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expected on Wednesday cold to very cold weather in several provinces and active winds on the coasts during the next 24 hours.
The center predicts cold to very cold weather in Dhamar, Bayda, Amran, Sanaa, Saada, and Dhalea provinces, with the possibility of frost formation during dawn and early morning hours.
The highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout Plateau, Jawf, Marib, Ibb, Mahweet, and Rayma are expected to experience cold weather with active winds ranging between 15 and 30 knots around the Socotra Archipelago, western and southern coast, and Bab al-Mandab entrance.
The lowest temperatures recorded at various weather monitoring stations this morning were 2.3 in Dhamar, 2.4 in Amran, 3 in Sanaa, 7.1 in Sadda, 10 in Mahweet, and 10.4 in Ibb.
The center called on the elderly, children, patients, and workers to take necessary precautions against extreme cold effects at night and early in the morning, urging farmers, beekeepers, poultry, and livestock herders to adhere to instructions to safeguard their agricultural crops and livestock from extreme cold.
The center issued a warning to seafarers and fishermen in the Socotra Archipelago, south of the western coast and entrance to Bab al-Mandab, about turbulent seas and high waves.
