Public conflict between “Al-Alimi and Al-Zubaidi” at climate conference in UAE sparks ridicule

SANAA, Dec. 02 (YPA) – The appearance of Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of “The Presidential Leadership Council” and his deputy, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, the head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in one chair during the so-called “climate conference” in the UAE city of Dubai,  sparked widespread ridicule on social media.

A number of political activists considered the crowding of Al-Alimi and Al-Zubaidi for one chair representing Yemen during the opening of the COP28 conference on Thursday as a childish act that offends Yemen in front of 200 countries participating in the conference.

The journalist Samir Al-Nimri said in a post on his X account, that Dubai allocated one seat to Rashad Al-Alimi, but his deputy, who is the head of the STC refused to sit in the back and insisted on sitting next to Al-Alimi, indicating that “Yemen is witnessing the dirtiest stage in its history.”

Other activists ridiculed the jostling of Al-Alimi and Al-Zubaidi for the seat, stressing that this crowding reflected the sharp conflict between members of the ” Presidential Leadership Council” loyal to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which threatens a military conflict between the parties in central Aden, while other activists disavowed of those who represent Yemen in the COP28 conference or in any international conferences and meetings as they are tools of the coalition against their country.

He mocked the scene by saying, “They reminded me when we were racing for chairs in the first grade of school, but the scene is repeated at the height of the climate with the age difference. He considered it as a disaster and disability for the first time recorded in history.

Informed political sources expected the UAE intelligence to coordinate a joint meeting between “Al-Alimi and Al-Zubaidi” with the head of the Zionist entity participating in the conference to discuss military developments in the Red Sea and activate joint work between them after the Yemeni forces in Sanaa prevented the passage of Israeli ships from the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea in response to the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip since the seventh of last October.

The head of the Sanaa delegation, negotiator Mohammed Abdulsalam, said in a post on his  “X” account on Friday that the UAE received the head of the Zionist entity participating in the “Climate Conference” in Dubai to encourage him to commit more brutal crimes against the people of the Gaza Strip, indicating that the humanitarian climate is polluted by the crimes of Israel and those who encourage and support it.
