LAHJ, Nov. 25 (YPA) – Sheikhs and notables of the Hawshab tribe in Lahj province gathered together to respond to the abduction and looting of vehicle belonging to one of the commanders of the Salafist groups “Al-Amaliqa” Abdul Samad Abdul Khaliq Al-Hawashabi, by members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and found him in poor condition in the city of Aden.
On Friday, the tribesmen held an extensive meeting, during which they discussed their response to the banditry and beating of the leader Al-Hawashbi and the looting of his car while passing on the public road to one of the camps belonging to the UAE in the Bir Ahmed area of Al Buraiqeh District.
The meeting issued a statement affirming that the incident has repercussions on security and social peace.
The statement pointed out that the incident of the banditry and kidnapping was not accidental, but was a planned operation, as documented by surveillance cameras the moment when he was intercepted and kidnapped by elements on a military vehicle belonging to the STC and other vehicles that carry out the monitoring and follow-up process.
The statement considered the kidnapping incident a stain on the forehead of the STC factions, calling on the STC to hand over those involved in the kidnapping and banditry to Al-Hawashabi and take strict measures against them.
The statement called on all the gunmen of the Hawashib tribe to gather in Aden and confront these acts and rehabilitate the people of Al-Hawashib in the event that the perpetrators are not detected and held accountable.
The statement described the STC factions’ actions as terrorist acts that threaten the lives, property, safety, and lives of citizens and strip them of all values and principles.
