SANAA Nov. 23 (YPA) – The Tax Authority of the caretaker government in Sanaa granted 74,040 tax exemption certificates to taxpayers of small and smaller establishments during the period from February 1 to October 31 of the current year 2023.
The head of the authority, Abduljabbar Ahmed Muhammad, explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the authority granted exemptions according to the database for small taxpayers as well as those who were added this year.
He pointed out that the total number of exemption certificates issued through the Authority’s automated system in the field of income taxes during the specified period of the current year amounted to 51,170 exemptions, while the number of exemptions granted in the field of real estate rents reached 22,870 exemptions.
The Authority approved this year to automatically renew the exemptions, issue them through the automated system every three years, and grant them to small taxpayers free of charge through the General Authority of Posts and Postal Savings, he added.
The Authority’s head confirmed that all necessary measures have been taken to prevent minor taxpayers from being exposed to blackmail and to ensure that the desired goals and objectives of the Exemptions Law are achieved.
