AMSTERDAM, Nov. 18 (YPA) – The International Criminal Court (ICC) announced on Friday in a statement that it had received a request to open an investigation into the Zionist-American aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The statement confirmed that the request was submitted by the countries of South Africa, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Comoros and Djibouti.
“The court is already conducting an ongoing investigation into the situation in the State of Palestine regarding war crimes committed by the Zionist enemy since June 13, 2014,” it added.
Earlier, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said that his country had submitted a request to the Court to investigate war crimes committed by the Zionist-American aggression on Gaza.
He added that his country believed that the genocide that Zionist aggression are committing in Gaza, where thousands of Palestinians were killed and hospitals and public infrastructure were destroyed.
Ramaphosa explained, saying: “In South Africa, we, along with a number of other countries around the world, have referred these entire actions of the Israeli government to the International Criminal Court, because we believe that war crimes are being committed there, and they warrant an investigation by the court.”
