Palestinian authorities: Every kilometer in Gaza received 50 tons of explosives

GAZA, Oct. 31 (YPA) – The government media office in Gaza announced on Monday that more than 18,000 tons of explosives have been dropped on the Strip since the start of the Israeli war on October 7, causing widespread destruction in the Strip.

The media office said in a statement, “More than 18,000 tons of explosives were dropped on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression.”

The statement explained that the explosives “left widespread destruction and more than 10,000 martyrs and missing persons, as every kilometer inside the Gaza Strip received about 50 tons of explosives over the days of the aggression.”

Internationally banned ammunition

Earlier, the head of the government media office in Gaza, Salama Marouf, told Al-Jazeera that the Israeli enemy is using munitions that cause massive destruction to infrastructure, pointing out that there are many indications that Israeli enemy army is using internationally banned munitions.

Salama explained that the Israeli enemy is using new ammunition that melts the limbs of the wounded.

He pointed out that the Israeli enemy bombing destroyed half of the housing units in the Strip, as the Zionist occupation implements its threat to set the Strip back 50 years.

Destroying tens of thousands of buildings

In the same context, the Palestinian Minister of Works and Housing, Muhammad Ziara, said in a statement that “Israel destroyed about 200,000 housing units in its violent raids on Gaza, which represents more than 25% of the populated areas in the Strip.”

He added: “The criminality of the occupier in the current aggression is unprecedented, as it removed entire families from the civil registry, wiped out neighborhoods, zones, and residential communities with their residents, and destroyed facilities including hospitals, places of worship, bakeries, water filling stations, markets, schools, and educational and service institutions.”

Satellite images taken before and after October 7 showed the extent of the destruction inflicted on the Gaza Strip areas as a result of the systematic Israeli air raids.

“Maxar Technology” company published pictures comparing before and after the raids, in the areas of Beit Hanoun, Al Karama Neighborhood, Ezbet Beit Hanoun, and Beit Lahia.

Since October 7, at least 8,005 Palestinians have been killed, including 3,324 children, 2,062 women, and 460 elderly people, according to the Ministry of Health, while 114 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, according to official sources.

The violent Israeli enemy raids have resulted in the destruction of entire residential neighborhoods. The Zionist occupation entity also implemented its siege on Gaza, preventing all supplies of electricity, water, fuel, and medicine, which portends a catastrophic situation, according to international warnings.
