GENEVA, Oct. 25 (YPA) – The Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor (EMHRN) the Israeli occupation air force of using deliberately unprecedented firepower to bomb the crowded residential areas and civilian gatherings in Gaza Strip.
In a statement, EuroMed Rights affirmed that the Israeli occupation is intensifying its air attacks on the Strip and bombing “gatherings of civilians with the goal of killing them masse, which may amount to horrific war crimes under international humanitarian law.
The organization’s statement said that Israeli warplanes dropped an average of 22 destructive missiles per square kilometer in the Gaza Strip – an area not exceeding 365 square kilometers and crowded with more than 2.3 million people – since the start of the unprecedented military attack on October 7.
The statement pointed to Israel’s horrific attacks that left hundreds of martyrs and wounded, such as: (Abu Dalal Shopping Centre), the central market in the Nuseirat refugee camp, in the town of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, and in a Café Khan Yunis.
In addition, at least 7 bakeries were bombed while civilians were there to get bread, and dozens of places of worship and the vicinity of hospitals and health centers, as well as schools housing displaced people trying to find safe refuge from Israeli attacks.
Earlier, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced at least 42 of its buildings flying the United Nations flag were targeted and damaged.
The Israeli occupation army announced that it attacked 320 targets on Monday and 400 other targets on Tuesday, a more than three-fold increase compared to previous days, according to the United Nations.
According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the total number of Palestinian martyrs has risen to 5,791 since October 7, including 2,360 children, 1,292 women, and 295 elderly people.
