Saudi-led coalition imposes collective punishment against people of Aden

ADEN, Oct. 24 (YPA) – The hours of electricity service outages increased on Tuesday in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, to more than 16 hours since Monday, amid the silence of the pro-coalition government.

Residents reported that the increase in power outage hours from 12 to 16 hours doubled the suffering of citizens due to running out of fuel for two hours of work.

They confirmed that all power stations were out of service, while the Al-Haswah and Al-Mansoura plants operating with diesel fuel will operate for the next four hours only.

Media activist Majid Al-Daari, who resides in Aden, considered the power outage for many hours to be mass torture against the people of Aden.

The leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) have not issued any comment as a result of this suffering, Al-Daari said. He pointed out that the STC has become a partner in this suffering by accepting the humiliation of citizens in Aden.

This comes after the Aden Electricity Corporation issued a statement yesterday, Monday, in which it called on the pro-coalition government to intervene urgently to provide fuel for the power stations, indicating that the PetroMasila station was 70% out of service.
