Two members of STC factions killed in IED blast in Abyan

ABYAN, Oct. 22 (YPA) – At least two members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were killed on Sunday in an explosion that occurred in Modiya district of Abyan province, southern Yemen.

According to local sources, unidentified gunmen detonated an explosive device while a military vehicle belonging to the logistics and provisioning factions of the Fifth Support Brigade was passing by in Omran valley in Modiya district, resulting in the killing of two members on board.

The leaders of the STC factions accused Al-Qaeda members of targeting their forces by planting explosive devices after they announced last month that they had cleared Modiya and Omran valley of terrorist elements.
