Sanaa calls on UN to hold emergency session regarding dangerous situation in Gaza

SANAA, Oct. 18 (YPA) – Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa renewed on Wednesday its call to hold an emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly under the title “United for Peace” to discuss the dangerous situation in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the ministry denounced the failure of the Security Council to carry out its responsibility in accordance with the United Nations Charter to maintain international peace and security, especially after America’s objection to a draft resolution submitted by the Russian Federation calling for an immediate and humanitarian ceasefire in the Strip.

The statement stressed that the double standards of the United States of America and Western countries ranted to democracy and human rights have revealed the true face of those countries in providing unlimited support to the Zionist entity without any consideration for the humanitarian aspect.

The ministry’s statement affirmed that the invitation came in view of the failure of the Security Council to pass the Russian Federation’s draft resolution on a ceasefire due to the positions that were adopted by a number of its permanent members in refusing to condemn the Zionist crimes committed against Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
