RIYADH, Oct. 04 (YPA) – The Saudi authorities released on Tuesday a prominent security official loyal to the Islah Party following his arrest in Riyadh in early January.
Private sources familiar with the matter said that Saudi Arabia released, Brigadier General Mufti Suhail Nahyan Samouda, Director General of Mahra province Police, after he remained in detention in one of the Saudi authorities’ prisons in Riyadh, without mentioning the main reason behind the arrest.
Head of the Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, had summoned Samouda to Riyadh at the beginning of this year, to be arrested upon his arrival and placed under house arrest for reasons possibly related to American-British interests in the province, according to the sources.
Saudi Arabia was the one who appointed Samouda as the director of Mahra Security after its forces took control of Nishtun Port and Al-Ghaydah Airport in July 2018, in addition to turn the airport, which is located on the Arabian Sea, into a joint American-British military base with the Zionist entity, without any movement from the coalition-backed government.
