13,000 cases of “conjunctivitis” recorded in Aden
ADEN, Sept. 28 (YPA) – Over 13,000 cases of infection with “conjunctivitis” virus have been recorded in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, in southern Yemen during the past few days.
Medical sources in the city confirmed the conjunctivitis virus had invaded the city, with the highest rate recorded in various regions within days, causing severe infections in children and women’s eyes.
The sources indicated that anti-inflammatory eye medications had disappeared from most of the city’s pharmacies.
Epidemics have been spreading in various areas of Aden due to the collapse of the sewage network, which has affected most residential neighborhoods without any reforms provided by the pro-coalition government in the city since the beginning of 2016.
