ABYAN, Sept. 26 (YPA) – Security forces loyal to the Saudi-led coalition on Monday launched a new campaign of raids and arrests in Abyan province, southern Yemen.
Informed sources said that a security force from the Abyan Security Department raided the homes of citizens in the Naqab area and arrested a number of people on charges of involvement in an attempt to assassinate Abyan security chief Abu Meshaal al-Kazmi.
On Sunday, Al-Kazmi had survived an assassination attempt, but three of his companions were killed in the ambush they subjected to while passing through the same area.
The arrest campaigns in Abyan have been escalating recently, as killings among the leaders of the Saudi-Emirati coalition factions increased.
